Itinerary - Chardham Yatra from Haridwar

Day 1 - Haridwar to Barkot by Car: Arrival

Begin your journey for Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar. Get picked up by our representative in Haridwar who will escort you to Barkot via Mussoorie by car. En route, enjoy scenic views of the mountains, stop by Kempty Falls, and enjoy water activities. Once reached Barkot, check-in to the hotel and relax. You have the option to go out and explore the town situated at the banks of the Yamuna river or just stay inside.

Day 2 - Barkot: Trip to Yamunotri Dham

Wake up, have breakfast, and get ready as the much-awaited Char Dham Yatra begins today. Start your drive from Barkot to Yamunotri Dham, India’s second most holy river from where the Yamuna river has originated. After reaching Jan ki Chatti, take a bath in Jamnabai Kund, which is believed to cleanse and protect from a painful death. After the bath, start a 6 km trek. This can be covered by walking, horse, or doli. Once you reach the temple, give your respects, and praise the mother Yamuna. The idol of Ganga Devi is placed inside the temple. Next, visit Surya Kund, a hot spring near the temple. The kund is so hot that you can boil some rice and potatoes here. Take this as a prasad of the Devi.

After the visit to Yamunotri, trek down to Jan ki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.

Day 3 - Uttarkashi: Visit Vishwanath Temple

On this day you will be heading out to the next location, Uttarkashi. This town is situated along the banks of river Bhagirathi and is the district capital of the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. On arrival, pay homage to Vishwanath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India, and Shakti Temple, famous for the big Trishul of 6 meters in height and 90 cm in circumference. After that make your way to the hotel and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 4 - Uttarkashi: Take a Holy Dip in Garam Kund

Have breakfast and begin the journey by driving from Uttarkashi to Gangotri. Stop in between to take a holy dip in Garam Kund at Gangnani. Next, proceed to the next pilgrimage site on the Chota Char Dham route. The valley is known for its mesmerizing views of Deodar trees and the soaring peaks. Once you reach Gangotri, one of the holiest shrines in Uttarakhand that applauds the Goddess Ganga, take a dip in the holy Ganges River. After the aarti, relax and admire the scenery around you. Later, drive back to Uttarkashi.

Day 5 - Guptkashi: Views of Ganga river

Wake up early, have breakfast, and proceed towards Guptakashi. En route, witness the scenic view of Ganga river. Also, see the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi river at Devprayag. Stop for lunch at Srinagar. Take all your essentials from here as there are no shops ahead. Continue your journey and see Rudraprayag, Ukhimath in between. Once reached Guptakashi, check-in at the hotel and rest.

Day 6 - Kedarnath: Visit to Kedarnath temple

Wake up with great views of the beautiful mountains and have breakfast. Get ready and drive to Gaurikund from where the trek to Kedarnath will start. Gaurikund is a natural pool with hot water, which is known for relieving skin problems. Leave early to partake in aarti at the temple. The entire trek depends upon your fitness level, so make sure you are physically fit. You can also take ponies or palki (palanquins) for the journey to make it a tad bit comfortable. In between, stop for lunch at various food joints and continue the journey to Kedarnath Temple. Once reached, praise the almighty Lord Shiva. Witness the entire valley echoing with the sounds of ringing bells and religious prayers. After the aarti is over, check-in to a hotel in Kedarnath.

Distance from Gaurikund to Kedarnath - 16 km trek

Trek time - 4 hours (approx.)

Day 7 - Guptkashi: Puja at Jyotirlinga Temple

Wake up early to visit the great Abhishek Puja at one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Afterward, have breakfast at the hotel and trek back to Gaurikund. En route, stop for lunch. Once reached Gaurikund, check-in the hotel and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 8 - Badrinath: Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers confluence

On day 8 check out and proceed from Guptkashi to Badrinath, the last Dham on the Chota Char Dham Yatra. This notable shrine lies at an elevation of 3,133 m and is nestled between the Nar and Narayan mountains. Once reached, explore the town on the holy confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Once reached Badrinath, check-in to the hotel and retire for the day.

Day 9 - Rudraprayag: Trek to Badrinath Temple

Wake up early in the morning and proceed to the famous shrine of Badrinath Temple. It is one of the five forms of Lord Vishnu. After reaching, start the trek to the temple, or take ponies or palanquins to make your journey comfortable. Before entering the temple, dip in the water of Tapt Kund, a hot water spring known to have medicinal values. Enter the Badrinath temple and pay your respects to Lord Badri Vishal. The temples look amazing with mountains behind. After the visit, return to Rudraprayag, check-in at the hotel, and rest.

Trek Time - 5 hours, 52 minutes (approx.)

Day 10 - Haridwar: Departure

Wake up, have breakfast, and check-out from the hotel. Heads towards Rishikesh, one of the holiest places for Hindus from where the River Ganges flows. Visit the ancient temples, and various attractions namely Laxman Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Ram Jhulla, and Sivananda Ashram that are tucked into the town. After the tour, transfer to Haridwar Railway Station to head back home with peace in the soul and God’s blessings.
