Itinerary - Sri Lanka Delights

Day 1 - Colombo - Pinnawala – Kandy

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, meet our tour representative who will guide you with assisted transfer to the hotel in Kandy. Pay a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en route. One-of-its-kind, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a nursery, orphanage and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Continue your journey towards the hotel. On reaching, complete the check-in formalities.

Get ready for the sightseeing in Kandy, a World Heritage Site. You’ll be amused to see how the traditions, legends and folklore of Kandy are still kept alive. The first destination will be Kandy Lake. Also known as the ‘Sea of Milk’, the artificial lake has many legends associated with it. Thereafter, you will be taken to the local market and free to enjoy shopping for some time.

Next on the itinerary is the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Nestled inside the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple. The palace preserves the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Partake in the rituals which take place three times a day.

Spare some time for visiting Kandy Town and Gem Museum. Post this, you will be taken to the Kandyan Art and Craft center. Try buying something for you as a souvenir from here. Post this you will be entertained by a cultural performance.

Day 2 - Kandy - Peradeniya - Nuwara Eliya

The first stopover of Day 2 of Sri Lanka Delights tour will be at the Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya. Attracting millions of visitors annually, the garden is famous for its collection of orchids. Soak-in the beauty of more than 4000 species of plants here.

Post this, hit the roads to the Nuwara Eliya often termed as the ‘Little England’. To make the trip memorable, a visit to the tea plantation en route is scheduled for you. Upon arrival at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya, you can complete the check-in formalities. Afterwards, get ready for an exciting city tour.

Treat your eyes and senses to the tea plantation and visit the tea factory. Witness how tea is prepared and graded. Taste freshly brewed pure Ceylon tea. This will surely remove all your tiredness. The pristine mountain beauty and golf courses will cast a spell on you.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Nuwara Eliya – Colombo

Once done with a hearty breakfast, get ready for Colombo, the city with a long history. After reaching, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel in Colombo. The day is scheduled for sightseeing tour.

Marvel at the clock tower which is around 100 years old. Explore numerous buildings built during the British era. Next, proceed towards the Pettah bazaar. Walking around this vibrant bazaar will give you an illusion of being present in the Cairo or Tehran. Pay homage at a temple of Buddhist followers. Wander in the posh residential areas.

Post this, get ready to visit the National Museum of Colombo. The largest museum in Sri Lanka preserves the things which are of much importance to the island. Spend some time at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, the very first purpose built convention center in Asia. Viewing the new parliament is also in the list. Get insights about the Dutch colonial rule in Sri Lanka by visiting the Colombo Dutch Museum.

After an engaging day, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Colombo

Post breakfast, you will transferred to the Colombo airport to catch the flight for your onward destination.
