Himalayan Zoological Park

Himalayan Zoological Park

The Himalayan Zoological Park in Sikkim is one of the best attractions of the North East Himalayas. Unique and first of its kind in India, the zoo lets animals reside in their natural habitat. Spread across 230 hectares of forested land with altitudes ranging from 6,500 t0 8,000 feet, it offers splendid views of Mount Kanchenjunga.

This national park was built to save the wildlife without hindering creatures and keeping them in their natural habitat. As a result, a variety of fauna is found here, like Snow Leopard Cat, Himalayan Palm Civet, Himalayan Black Bear, and Crimson-Horned Pheasant. The entrance to the Zoo is located at the end of a short pathway opposite Ganesh Tok, another must-visit attraction in the mountain town.
