Dzongri trek is especially suited and designed for trekkers who want to explore beautiful mountain landscape in limited time. The Dzongri La peak is the best spot for a view of the mountains of Sikkim Himalayas.

Along with Mighty Mt. Kanchendzonga (8585 m), the third highest mountain in the world, witness Mt. Pandim (6691m), Mt. Kabur (7338 m), Mt. Simvo (6811m), Mt. Rathong (6679 m), Mt. Kokthang 6147m and Mt. Goecha Peak 5127m.

Start from Yuksom covering 18 kilometers through Saachen and Bakkhim to reach Tshokha. The trail passes through dense tropical forests of Kachenjunga National Park. Marvel at the magnificent views of mountains peaks. Revel in and the mystical music of river flowing down in the valley. Picturesque waterfalls, few hanging bridges and magnificent red and white rhododendron flowers are spread as far as eye can see. The trek is particularly strenuous, as one climbs a gradient of 45 to 60 degrees.

Camp at Tshoka for the night. The next morning, trek ahead towards Dzongri. You can also opt to take a day to acclimatize as the onward trek is challenging and might be accompanied by Acute Mountain Sickness.

Head towards Dzongri where you can rest for the night and climb the peak the next morning. The sunrise is one of the most mesmerizing views of the mountains. Revel in the peaceful lookout. Have a fill of the pure air and the blessed views. Start your trek down. The trail is now easy and you can reach Yuksom in a day or two.

The Dzongri trekking experience though short is adventurous and one of the memorable mountain expeditions in Sikkim.
