Itinerary - North East Delight with Kalimpong

Day 1 - Arrival and transfer to Darjeeling

Meet our representative at Bagdogra Airport, who will assist you to Darjeeling, a hill town in West Bengal. Darjeeling is named 'Queen of Hills' owing to its exotic location. The prime highlight is Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 - Darjeeling

Wake up early around 3.45 am and get assisted to Tiger Hill. Catch the beautiful views of sun rays falling on Mount Kanchenjunga, a sight not to be missed!

Drive back and stop at Ghoom Monastery on the way to see the rare Buddhist manuscripts. Then, step into the War Memorial, commemorating the sacrifice of the Gurkha soldiers of Darjeeling. Finally, visit the Batasia Loop, an important point of the Darjeeling Toy Train.

Get to the hotel room and have breakfast. Later, get ready once again for local sightseeing. Visit places including Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing and Gombu Rock, and more. End the tour with a visit to the Tea Estate and sip on varieties in teas of different flavors. Spend the evening however you like and thereafter, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Darjeeling - Kalimpong (51 km/2.5 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kalimpong. Upon reaching, check-in at the hotel. Rest for a while, and then get ready for sightseeing. First, visit the Deolo Hills, the region's highest point, which offers mesmerizing views of Kanchenjunga. Don't forget to taste the cherries cultivated here.

Next, make your way towards Durpin Monastery. Rotate the row of prayer wheels for divine blessings. Pay a visit to the Pine view nursery, boasting a great cacti collection in Asia. After a well-spent day of sightseeing, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Kalimpong - Pelling (90 km/3.5 hours)

Day 4 of your Northeast tour with Kalimpong, you will be transferred from Kalimpong to Pelling. Once reached, check in to the hotel and freshen up. Enjoy the comforts of the hotel or go out to explore the local markets and sites in Pelling. You will find hand-woven carpets, shawls, blankets in Lepcha leaves, Buddhist religious items, and other things to buy.

Return to the hotel afterward for a sound sleep.

Day 5 - Pelling

After breakfast at the hotel, get ready for full-day sightseeing of Pelling. First, drive to Khecheopalri Lake, revered by the Buddhist and Hindu community. Next, visit Pemayangtse Monastery to witness the Buddhist antique idols, scriptures, and sculptures. The seven-tiered painted wooden structure portrays Guru Rimpoche's Heavenly Palace, Santoplari.

Drive to Kanchenjunga Waterfalls and later to the ruins of Rabdentse, which is declared as a monument of national importance by the Archaeological Survey of India. The ruins are accessible only after a 2 km trek through dense jungles and snow-covered mountains.

Return to the hotel and spend the remaining day however you like. Opt to stroll through the town or explore the bustling bazaars. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6 - Pelling - Gangtok (128 km/4.5 hours)

On day 6 of your Gangtok Pelling Darjeeling Kalimpong tour, post breakfast, we will drive you from Pelling to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Home to several monasteries, it was formerly known as the 'land of monasteries'. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and freshen up. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. Explore the markets at Mall Road and buy yourself some souvenirs. Then, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7 - Gangtok

Start the day with a delectable breakfast at the hotel. Later get ready for sightseeing. First, visit Rumtek Monastery, the largest Gompa in Sikkim, and later the Saramsa Garden, known for the cultivation of fruits and flowers.

Proceed towards Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary, famous for varied flora and fauna. Witness the display of Tibetan carpets, among other things at the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom Emporium.

Next, visit the Research Institute of Tibetology and Do Drul Chorten (Stupa). Later, take blessings at Enchey Monastery. Return to your hotel. Spend the day at leisure or on MG mall road. Stay the night at the hotel.

Day 8 - Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake (36 km/1 hour)

Start the day with a leisurely breakfast and proceed for a short trip to Tsomgo Lake. It is regarded as holy among Buddhists. At 12,400 ft, amid the snow-covered mountains, the lake is fed by water from the melting snow from mountains.

You can indulge in yak or mule rides if you want to. After an amazing day, get back to Gangtok. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 9 - Departure from Gangtok

The tour of North East India with Kalimpong ends today. After breakfast, check-out from the hotel. Get assisted transfer to Bagdogra airport for your onward journey with fond memories.
