Bir Billing Paragliding

Bir Billing Paragliding

It’s your chance to sail over the mountains just like the Himalayan eagle. Number one in Asia for paragliding, Bir Billing resides as a beautiful paradise in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The place has ample coverage of breathtaking landscapes and lofty terrains that not only gives nature admirers the best times of their life, but a perfect platform for paragliders to make a fly.

Bir is the landing ground, whereas Billing is the take-off destination (2400 m). Don’t freak out, if you see gliders flying at the speed of around 200 kmph because out here it’s a common affair. Its topography is such, you can even fly in bad weathers (non-windy). And this can be properly done by Thermalling (using columns of hot air) in the flight. The Billing range runs all the way to Dharamshala, and thereby separates Kangra from the valley of Chamba.

Over the years, Bir Billing has developed itself into a major paragliding hub in India. Owing to this, the region is in the news for organizing a paragliding world cup tournament soon.
