Itinerary - Classical Forts and Palaces Tour

Day 1 - Arrive in Delhi

Your Delhi Agra Jaipur Udaipur tour shall begin from the capital of India, Delhi. This millennia-old city has witnessed the rise and fall of many empires which include the Delhi Sultanate, the Mughals, the Rajputs, the Marathas and the British.

Arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, from where our tour representative will escort you to your hotel. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of this city as you retire for the night dreaming about the destinations that you are going to visit on this tour.

Overnight stay will be at your hotel in Delhi.

Day 2 - Delhi Sightseeing

Today we shall have a delicious Indian breakfast before proceeding to see the landmark sites of Delhi.

We shall drive past the magnificent Red Fort which was the power center of the Mughals right till their dynastic rule ended over India. This huge fort was built by Shah Jahan in the 17th Century when he shifted the capital from Agra to Delhi.

Built by Sir Edward Lutyens, the Parliament House is the place where the representatives of one of the world's largest democracies sit for discussing matters important to India. The structure stands on 144 pillars and is considered to be one of the most brilliant specimens of British India.

Built by the renowned Industrial family Birla's, the Laxmi Narayan Temple was inaugurated by none other than Mahatma Gandhi himself. Revel in spirituality at this huge temple dedicated to Goddess of wealth (Laxmi) and Narayan (a form of Lord Vishnu).

We shall then proceed to pay homage to the Brave hearts who died during the First World War at the India Gate. This huge archway is surrounded by a beautiful garden and is a popular picnic spot amongst the locals.

Visit one of the largest mosques in Asia, the Jama Masjid. It can hold a stupendous 25,000 people at one time and is considered to be one of the finest specimens of Mughal architecture. Built-in the 17th century, the Jama Masjid still has an old-world charm to it.

The first specimen of the Charbagh style of architecture wherein a building is surrounded by 4 gardens was the tomb of Humayun. This very tomb was the inspiration for the famous Taj Mahal of Agra.

Pay reverence to Mahatma Gandhi at the Gandhi memorial. This is the very spot where the great man was assassinated and the room where he used to stay is still kept the way Gandhiji left it for the last time.

We shall then proceed to visit one of the tallest brick minarets in the world, Qutub Minar. Built-in the memory of Sufi saint Qutubuddin-Bakhtiar-kaki, this tomb is an epitome of Mughal architecture.

Day 3 - Delhi – Agra

Today we leave towards Agra from Delhi via road. Once you arrive in Agra, you will check in to your hotel, freshen up and then we will visit two famous attractions in Agra, the tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah and the Agra Fort.

One of the most magnificent structures given to India by the Mughals, the Agra Fort is a huge fort built from red sandstone. More than 4000 workers toiled hard for 8 years to make sure that this fort rises above the land.

The tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah is a beautiful white marble structure situated in Agra. The place is nicknamed as baby Taj as it resembles the structure of the Taj Mahal.

Day 4 - Agra – Jaipur

Today we proceed towards creating one of the most memorable moments of your life by visiting the Taj Mahal during the sunrise. One of the most important monuments in the world, a symbol of love, the Taj Mahal looks all the more beautiful when the golden rays of the rising sun fall upon it glistening the white marble with paranormal beauty. After visiting the Taj, we will go back to the hotel and have a baronial breakfast.

On our way towards Jaipur, we shall visit the famous city of Fatehpur Sikri. The city was built by Akbar to honor the Sufi saint Khwaja Salim-ud-din Chisti who predicted the birth of his son. The abandoned city has many attractions like the Jodha Bai Palace, Buland Darwaza, Raja Birbal Palace, Panch Mahal, and the Jama Masjid.

We shall reach Jaipur in the evening where you will stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 5 - Jaipur

Wake up to chirping birds in the pink city of India, the name was so given to Jaipur because of the color of houses in the city. We shall royally begin our day by visiting the Amber Fort on an elephant. This huge fort is entirely made out of sandstone and marble and is a beautiful display of military fortification.

We will visit the City Palace which was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century. The palace has two Mahal namely the Chandra Mahal and the Mubarak Mahal and both of which are an exquisite combination of Indian and Mughal styles of architecture.

We will also visit one of the largest stone observatories in the world, Jantar Mantar. The accuracy of the stone equipment used to portray the movement of the planets is worth seeing. We will also satisfy your shopping cravings by taking you on a visit to the famous local bazaars of Jaipur. Take home some souvenirs from the handcrafted articles including the famous chicken-style ladies dresses from here.

Day 6 - Jaipur - Udaipur

Once you gorge up on your mouth-watering breakfast, we will proceed towards the romantic city of Udaipur. Once you reach Udaipur, you will check-in to your hotel and then spend the day at your leisure. Udaipur is one of the most romantic cities in India with beautiful lakes dotting the landscape of the city. You can choose to eat some local delicacies or just take a quiet stroll along the lake in Udaipur.

Overnight stay will be at your hotel in Udaipur.

Day 7 - Udaipur

First, fill your tummy with all those delicious cuisines that our expert cooks have prepared for you and then we shall proceed towards a sightseeing excursion of Udaipur.

First, we will visit the Saheliyon Ki Bari which was built by King Sangram Singh II to please his queen. The place is a popular picnic spot amongst the locals and you can spend some quiet relaxing time here as you seep in the beauty of Rajasthan.

Visit some stunning Indo-Aryan style architecture at the Jagdish temple, which is a wonderful temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

We then proceed to visit the last site of the day, the City Palace, which is a palace built by Maharaja Udai Singh. The palace is a beautiful amalgamation of Indian, Mughal and Chinese styles of architecture and it is a palace complex containing around 11 palaces which were built by various rulers.

Overnight stay will be at the Udaipur hotel.

Day 8 - Udaipur – Delhi Departure

Today is the last day of your Classic Forts and Palaces tour. We hope that you have enjoyed this royal tour as much as we did. Once you finish your breakfast our representative will help you in transferring to the Udaipur Airport from where you will board a flight to Delhi and then towards your onward destination.
