How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport to Spiti Valley is Kullu’s Bhuntar Airport, 54 kilometers away.

By Rail: Shimla is the nearest railhead to reach Spiti Valley. Chandigarh railway junction is the most preferred railhead, 330 kilometers away.

By Road: As Spiti Valley cannot be reached by air and rail, buses are the only way. Buses are available from Manali. The 198 kilometers ride is tough as the roads are very difficult.

Best time for camping in Spiti Valley

Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh remains frozen and nearly uninhabitable for six months. The summer months from late May to October are therefore the best time to visit Spiti. Though the days have warmed up the nights are cold. Precautions must be taken as the weather cannot be trusted so high up in the Himalayas.
