Upon arrival at Guwahati, the Gateway of North East India, meet our representative who will escort you to your hotel. Once reached, complete the check-in formalities and rest for a while. The rest of the day is at leisure. You can explore the city by visiting the Kamakhya Temple and Old Guwahati. For mementos, there are many places for shopping in Guwahati like the Fancy Bazaar. You can also see a show on the universe at Guwahati Planetarium. Once you are done exploring, come back to the hotel for a scrumptious meal, and enjoy a comfortable night’s stay.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, check-out from the hotel, and start your drive towards Shillong, the ‘Scotland of the East’. After reaching, check-in to the hotel, freshen up, and head out for sightseeing. Delight in shopping extravaganza at the oldest and largest traditional market centers in Northeast Asia, Barabazar in Lewduh. You will be amazed to see the most business at this market is conducted by the local village women.

Take your shopping trip to Police Bazar where you will find several hotels, shops, and multi-cuisine restaurants. Dine-in or return to the hotel for dinner, and enjoy a sound sleep.

After a delicious breakfast, get ready, and proceed for a full-day city tour of Shillong. First, visit the man-made Ward Lake, which is also known as Pollock’s Lake. Spend some time in tranquility and enjoy a walk amid nature. You can also indulge in boating activities. Next, visit the Cathedral Catholic Church and Capt. Williamson Sangma State Museum to gain an insight into the life of the local people of Shillong. Afterward, head to Shillong Peak, the highest point in Meghalaya, to witness mesmerizing views.

Later, you will visit emporiums for some more shopping. Once you are over with the city tour, drive back to the hotel for dinner, and slip under the blankets for a cozy sleep.

On day 4 of your Meghalaya trip, you will visit Cherrapunji, the second wettest place on the earth. After your breakfast, get ready, and proceed for a full-day trip to Cherrapunji from Shillong. Once reached, you will be mesmerized by the sounds of the gushing waterfalls here. Visit the Mawsmai Cave, one of the famous attractions in Cherrapunji.

Next, head to the highlight of this day-trip, Nohkalikai Falls. It is the highest plunge waterfall in India at a height of 1,115 feet. Also, visit the Mawmluh Cave. Later, we will visit other famous waterfalls in Cherrapunji like Noh-Sngithiang Falls, Kynrem Falls, and Elephant Falls. Once the tour is over, make your way back to Shillong hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Have breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and start driving from Shillong to Guwahati. En route, stop by the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya, Umiam Lake or Barapani. This lake serves as the source of fresh drinking water and fish for the villagers. Spend some time here in solitude amidst lush forests. Try your hands on fishing. Boating, kayaking, and angling are some other fun things to do at Umiam Lake. Continue your drive to Guwahati.

Once reached, check-in the hotel, savor dinner, and retire for the night.
