Itinerary - 3 Days tour to Chitrakoot

Day 1 - Arrival in Allahabad - Chitrakoot

Your Chitrakoot tour starts with your arrival in Allahabad. Our tour representative will meet you and greet you upon your arrival at Allahabad Airport or railway station. He will pick you up for the further journey. Board the vehicle and you will start your journey to Chitrakoot by road. En route you will visit Triveni Sangam, which is a confluence of three holy rivers namely Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati Rivers. This is a sacred Hindu site, which is believed to be a place where you can get rid of all the sins and free from the cycle of rebirth once you take a holy bath. It is believed that people attain salvation here. You can perform pooja here and ritual ablutions in the sacred water.

After having lunch in Allahabad, you will visit other popular sites of this holy city like Hanuman Temple, which is the only one in the world where the idol of the Lord Hanuman is in the lying position. Hanuman ji is also called Kotwal of Prayag. Inside the temple, there is a sanctum that houses the idol of Lord Hanuman which lies 8.1 feet below the shrine. Offer prayers to Lord Hanuman and then head towards Anand Bhawan, which was the house of Jawahar Lal Nehru. This historic house museum also houses Jawahar Planetarium where you can learn about astronomy. Swaraj Bhawan is another historical edifice which is located in the Anand Bhawan Complex. It is a place Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India, was born.

Day 2 - Chitrakoot Sightseeing

Wake up to a beautiful day and have a delicious breakfast before heading for a sightseeing tour of Chitrakoot. You will proceed to Ram Ghat, which is located on the bank of the Mandakini River. It is believed to be the place where Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lord Laxman held an elaborate conversation with Saint Goswami Tulsidas. This holy site holds religious importance in Hinduism and is a perfect blend of spirituality, and culture. You can enjoy boating here and soak in the spiritual aura of this serene place.

Next, you will visit Hanuman Dhara, which is located on the hilltop. You can enjoy the breathtaking views of the historic town of Chitrakoot from the temple. Seek blessings at the temple and head towards Sita Kund, where you can spot the footprints of Goddess Sita who was the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Later, you will head towards Sati Ansuya Ashram, which is located in one of the most scenic locations of the town. Located amidst the thick vegetation on the hillside in Chitrakoot, Sati Ansuya Ashram is dedicated to the wife of Maharishi Atri. You can see a chariot of Lord Krishna here. Also, you can spot a place where women perform circumambulation of the temple and pay their respects to the purest soul of all time - Mahasati Anasuya.

Lastly, you will head to Kamadgiri, which holds the highest importance in the Hindu religion as Lord Brahma performed the first yagna here after creating the world. Devotees often perform circumambulation of this religious site to receive blessings. After the sightseeing tour, return to the hotel in the evening. Have a peaceful overnight stay in your room.

Day 3 - Chitrakoot - Allahabad Departure
