Over the centuries, the country has been testimony to the rise and fall of mighty empires, either due to internal wars or invasion by foreigners. On the other hand, India is famous for its religious tolerance as it plays host to people of diverse religious faiths. The ‘Royalty and Religion Tour’, beginning from Delhi, will cover Jaipur, Agra, Gwalior, Orccha, Khajuraho and Varanasi.

Itinerary - Royalty and Religion Tour

Day 1 - Delhi (Arrival)

Arrive in Delhi followed by assisted transfer to the hotel for your stay. Have breakfast in the hotel. Post lunch, embark on a sightseeing tour of Delhi covering Humayun's Tomb, Qutab Minar, Gandhi memorial, Jama Masjid, Birla Temple, India gate and Parliament area. Stay overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 - Delhi to Jaipur

Post Breakfast you will leave Delhi to Jaipur by road which takes approx. 6 Hrs drive. On arrival, you will have an assisted check-in at the hotel. Jaipur is renowned as the Pink City and is one of the most sought after tourist destinations. The city is sprawling with architectural marvels and one can get a deep insight into the rich cultural history of the state during the tour.

The rest of the day is at your leisure. You can take a stroll nearby the resort or choose to relax in the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.

Day 3 - Jaipur Sightseeing

Post Breakfast you will proceed to enjoy local sightseeing.

Amber Fort : Located amidst the picturesque and rocky Aravalli Hills, Amber Palace is a not-to-be-missed place to in Jaipur. It is a fort built with great artistic taste. We can arrange an Elephant Ride at additional cost.

The City Palace is the main palace from where the Maharaja reigned from. The palace includes the Chandra Mahan and Mubarak Mahal along with various other buildings within the complex.

Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds, or also called Palace of the Breeze, is one of the important places to visit in Jaipur. It is regarded as the signature building of Jaipur and was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh.

Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is the largest stone astronomical observatory in the World. It is located just next to the city palace of Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Day 4 - Jaipur - Agra 5 hrs

Post breakfast in the morning, take a road trip to Agra. On the way, visit Fatehpur Sikri. It was built by Mughal emperor Akbar but was soon abandoned due to shortage of water. In the afternoon, arrive in Agra and move to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5 - Agra

Post breakfast in the morning, go out to explore the beauty of the famous Taj Mahal. It was commissioned by Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife 'Mumtaz Mahal'. Besides, you will visit Agra Fort and the tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah. In the afternoon, either revisit the Taj Mahal and the local bazaars. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 6 - Agra - Gwalior

On the 6th day, leave by road for Gwalior. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel to relax. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Gwalior Fort. It is housed with some famous palaces such as Raja Man Singh Palace, Teli-ka-Mandira and the ancient temple. The city is also famous for its Indian classical music. Stay overnight at the hotel in Gwalior.

Day 7 - Gwalior - Orchha 4 hrs

Post an early morning breakfast, take a road trip to the medieval monuments of Orchha. On the way, halt in Datia to see the hilltop Gobinda Palace. Some popular places you will visit here include Raj Mahal, Jehangir Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal. Stay overnight at the Sheesh Mahal.

Day 8 - Orchha - Khajuraho

On the 8th day, continue your journey towards Khajuraho, famous for its Chandela temples. By afternoon, arrive in Khajuraho and proceed to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9 - Khajuraho

In the morning, venture out of your hotel and explore the sensuous temples of Khajuraho. The afternoon is free either to relax or revisit the temples. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 10 - Khajuraho - Varanasi by flight 40 min

On the 10th day, in the morning, board the flight for Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varanasi, move to the hotel. In the afternoon, explore the temples of Varanasi which include Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Das Temple and Bharat Mata Temple besides Emperor Aurangzeb mosque. Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 11 - Varanasi

Early morning, enjoy boat ride on the river Ganges to witness the sunrise and rituals performed on the ghats. In the afternoon, drive towards Sarnath to visit the Buddhist temples and Sarnath Museum. Evening see Arti in the bank of Holy river Ganges, return back to hotel for night stay.

Day 12 - Varanasi - Delhi by flight 1 hr

Today, in the morning, drive to the airport to board flight for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to the international airport to board flight back home.
