Itinerary - Orissa Tribal Tour

Day 1 - Bhubaneswar

On Arrival at the Bhubaneswar airport, meet our representative to get assisted to one of our listed hotels. Check-in at the hotel to enjoy the cozy comfort of its room. Later in the day after lunch embark on a sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar. The major tourist attractions of Bhubaneswar include the Rajarani temple, Mukteswar temple, Lingraj temple and the Brahmeswar Bagh. Return to the hotel for dinner and a comfortable night stay.

Day 2 - Bhubaneswar

The next morning after the breakfast, move out to visit Parashurameshwara temple. This exquisitely carved temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The interiors of the temple depict the intricate carvings of elephant and horse processions, floral motifs and human figures. Later in the day visit the Orissa State Museum and the Museum of Tribal Arts and Artifacts, featuring a great collection of Dress, ornaments, weapons, household implements and musical instruments being used by the tribal's of Orissa. Stay the night in the hotel.

Day 3 - Bhubaneswar - Lalitgiri - Ratnagiri - Udaygiri - Bhubaneswar

In the morning after breakfast, drive for an excursion to Lalitgiri. This ancient lush village is a holy destination for a large number of Buddhist devotees. Visit the Chaitya hills an important tourist attraction as several stupas can be found on this hillside. Also visit the brilliant piece of Buddhist architecture found atop the Pushpagiri hill. After the visit, drive to Udaygiri and Ratnagiri sites which are also enriched with typical engraved Buddhist monuments and ancient sculptures. In the evening return to the hotel in Bhubaneswar for a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 - Bhubaneswar - Konark - Puri

Post breakfast, leave for Puri. Stop midway to at Konark to visit the famous Konark Sun temple. After the visit, resume the drive to Puri. Stop midway at Pipli, where Applique an age-old craft of Orissa is practiced. In Applique the brightly colored fabrics are stitched over another base fabric in beautiful patterns. Later in the day drive to Puri. On reaching Puri, check-in at one of our listed hotels. Rest and relax for the day in the hotel. In the evening you may take a leisurely walk to the Puri beach. Stay the night at the hotel.

Day 5 - Puri

Begin the morning by paying a visit to the Jagannath Temple. This temple of Lord Jagannath makes Puri one of the four dhamas in India. The walls of the temple are embellished with exquisite carvings. The pillars providing support to the temple are adorned with pictures depicting the life of Lord Krishna. Later in the day visit the major tourist attractions of Puri covering Swargadwar, Sakshi Gopal temple and the Gundicha temple. In the evening visit the long and quiet beach of Puri. You can pick up souvenirs from the numerous stalls lined up around the beach. Retire for the night in the hotel in Puri.

Day 6 - Puri - Chilka - Gopalpur

After an early breakfast, drive to Gopalpur. Gopalpur is a beautiful and quiet beach destination situated in the Bay of Bengal in the State of Orissa. On the way to Gopalpur, visit the Chilka Lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia. After the visit continue drive to Goplapur. The major tourist attractions of Gopalpur include Taratarini, Jaugada, Ansupa Lake, Hirakud Reservoir Taptapani, Mahuri Kalua, Patisonapur Beach, Chandragiri. Retire for the night at the hotel.

Day 7 - Gopalpur - Rayagada

After breakfast, drive to Rayagada. Rayagada is a tribal village famous for tribal craftsmanship and is dotted with lushgreen forests, beautiful meadows, stunning waterfalls, terraced valleys, rich tribal life and culture. On reaching Rayagada, check-in at one of the listed hotels. After resting for a while drive to visit Hatipathar for its great scenic beauty with two waterfalls on the course of river Nagavali. Stay the night in the hotel at Rayagada.

Day 8 - Rayagada – Bisamkatak – Rayagada

Post breakfast, drive to Bisamkatak. The Bisamkatak village is another village famous for its tribal craftsmanship. Later in the visit the weekly market of Bissamkatak which attracts thousands of foreign tourists for purchasing of Donoria Kondha ornamental and other handicraft products. Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9 - Rayagada – Chatikona – Jeypore

Post breakfast, drive straight to Chatikona. While driving towards Chatikona in the morning enjoy watching the Dongria kondhs men and women coming down from the mountains with different kinds of fruits and livestock. On reaching Chatikona,visit their interesting weekly market where these tribal mix with other communities and batter for various commodities. Later in the drive to Jeypore, trade hub of the Koraput district. Return to the hotel for night stay.

Day 10 - Jeypore – Onkudelli – Jeypore

Next morning start for an excursion to Onkudelli. Onkudelli is the house of famous Bonda tribes, which comes once every week to buy things from the weekly market. Visit the colorful markets of Bonda, Gadaba and Didayee. Post lunch, visit traditional Boro-Gadaba villages and enjoy the company of the colorful and friendly tribal of Orissa. It is a unique opportunity to see such a colorful concentration of a typical tribal at one place. Then drive back to Jeypore for overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 11 - Jeypore – Gupteswar – Jeypore

Early morning leave for excursion to Gupteswar visiting Dharua Gond tribal villages of Orissa, a famous cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Gupteswar is located at the top of a limestone hill situated at a height of 500 meters above the sea level. Later in the day, stop at a pottery village while driving back towards Jeypore. Stay the night in the hotel, in Jeypore.

Day 12 - Jeypore – Visakhapatnam

Next morning, drive to Visakhapatnam. Visakhapatnam is a paradise for tourists of all kinds, whether natural lovers, wild animal enthusiasts, bird watchers and even for environmental lovers. On reaching Visakhapatnam, check-in at one of our listed hotels. After resting for a while, set off for a sightseeing tour of Visakhapatnam covering Borra Caves, War memorial, Dolphin's Nose, Gangavaram beach and Kailasa Giri. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13 - Departure Transfer

Spend the day at leisure and as to your liking. Later in the day, transfer to Visakhapatnam airport, to board a flight for your onward journey.
