Itinerary - 5 Day Kerala Alleppey Houseboat Tour

Day 1 - Arrival Cochin

Your Kerala expedition begins at the Cochin airport/railway station where our representative will assist you in your hotel transfer. After checking into your hotel we go out for a sightseeing tour of Cochin.

Known as the Queen of Arabian Sea, Kochi is a bustling city of Kerala with a rich history. This trip has many surprises lined up for you. Visit the Saint Francis church and the Santa Cruz Basilica which are the fine specimens of Portuguese architecture. Sink in the architectural grandeur of the Gothic style of architecture at both these churches and then proceed to visit the Paradesi synagogue which is one of the few remaining synagogues in India. It is the oldest active synagogue in India and has a rich history dating back to 500 years.

After that, you will head towards the Ernakulam Shiva temple which is considered as the city temple of Kochi. This temple was one of the seven Royal temples of Kochi royalty. Explore the local markets of Cochin which contain many eye-pleasing souvenirs that will look good in the decor of your home and at the end of the day visit the coastal areas of Kochi to have a look at the famous Chinese fishing nets. You will be amazed to see the working of these nets.

After a tiring day, return to the hotel in the evening and have a sumptuous dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Cochin.

Day 2 - Cochin/Alleppey

Finish your delicious breakfast at the hotel in Kochi and then we proceed from Kochi to Alleppey for a houseboat tour. Board your luxurious houseboat at Alleppey, which is equipped with all the modern amenities and a small staff will be stationed at the houseboat which will take care of all your needs.

Enjoy the pristine waters of Kerala and click some photos of the magnetic natural beauty surrounding the backwaters. Your houseboat will travel towards SNDP Thodu and Punnamada Kayal. Treat your eyes to enchanting views of the backwaters and the shore areas which is sprawling with the lush green paddy fields and tall coconut trees. Experience the simple rural life of Kerala by visiting a small village near Alleppey. Have a sumptuous dinner at the houseboat.

Your houseboat will be anchored at Marthandam / Mangalam for the night.

Day 3 - Houseboat

Enjoy authentic Kerala cuisine today on the third day of your Alleppey houseboat tour before restarting your houseboat cruise at 10:00 a.m. Today, the houseboat will proceed towards Nedumudy. Go on a local country boat excursion at Kainakary and visit Kavalam, Veliyanadu village walk, Kidangara, Chundan Vallam, and Mathikayal. You will get an opportunity to enjoy the canoeing at the Kainakary.

Relax, unwind and sip in the natural beauty of Kerala backwaters along with some lemon tea. The houseboat will be anchored for the night at Nedumudy.

Day 4 - Houseboat

Your Alappuzha houseboat package cruise restarts at 10:00 a.m. and we proceed towards Thakazhi via Mancompu today. Visit a traditional banana plantation at Pulincunnu dock. Understand the intricacies of the art of statue making at a statue carving unit. Admire the intricacies of Kerala architecture by visiting the Kottaram temple, Pullincunnu church, and Saint Mary's Church. Explore the local market at Champakulam, the town is the winner of several snake boat races. Visit the vegetable plantations of Pullangadi and Pindithodu.

The houseboat will be anchored at Thakazhi for the night.

Day 5 - Houseboat/Cochin departure

Enjoy the serene beauty of backwaters for one last time as this is the last day of your tour. Restart early today at 7:30 a.m., after you finish your delicious breakfast. Your houseboat today will move towards Pallathuruthy via Kanjipadam. Once you reach the Kochi jetty dock by 9:00 a.m. our driver will meet you there and take you back to the airport/railway station for your return journey.
