Itinerary - Kerala Ayurveda Tour

Day 1 - Cochin

On your arrival at Cochin, our tour representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and take some rest in the hotel. Thereafter, head out to explore the Fort Kochi a historical site in Cochin.

Fort Kochi is a wonderful colonial site spotted with century-old churches and palaces. Wander around the Jews town lined with more than 100 years old shops and cafes. Explore the authentic wooden, glass or bamboo products, aromatic spices and organic oil in the shops. You can also buy the finest Karelian cotton or silk clothes. Visit the oldest Jews synagogue in India known as the Dutch Palace. This was built around 1545 and is operational since the year it was constructed. Explore the museum in the palace to witness the symbol of long colonial struggle in the city.

Next, visit the St. Francis Church also known as the European church in India. The control over this church has changed hands from Portuguese to Dutch and to the English from time to time. Here Vasco Da Gama was buried for 14 years before his son took the remains of his father to Lisbon.

The most charming attraction of the day is the Chinese Fishing nets. These are one of the symbols of the Karelian culture. The large nets fixed to the land and hanging high in row after row create a magnificent view during the sunset. You can take a boat ride to get an amazing view from the deck. After the exploration, back to the hotel for night stay at Cochin.

Day 2 - Cochin – Munnar (140 Km – 4-hour drive)

On day 2 of your Kerala Ayurveda tour, leave for Munnar by road after breakfast. As you proceed the weather will become cloudy. Enjoy traveling on the misty road rolling around the mountain and also spot waterfalls flowing down the slopes. Once you reach, check-in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day as you like.

Day 3 - Munnar

If Kerala is God's own land, then Munnar is the prettiest jewel on God's crown. It is one of the most scenic places in Kerala with several attractions in and around the city. Today you will visit the Eravikulam National Park, Shooting Point, Echo Point, and Mattupetty Dam.

Have a delectable breakfast and head out to experience the wilderness in the Eravikulam National Park (Closed in Feb & March every year). Spreading over 97 square Kilometer of land along the Western Ghat Mountain the park is home to the rare and exotic mountain goat. You can also spot langur, leopards and Indian Bison in the park. From the Rajamalai region of the park, you can view the Nilgiri Tahr the exotic animal the park is famous for. Eravikulam Park is also home to the highest peak in South India the Anamudi. If you are lucky, you can view the blooming Neelakurinji on the mountain slope. These special flowers bloom once in 12 years. From the park, you will also view the crowd gathered at the echo point, which is your next stop.

On the scenic Echo Point, experience the natural phenomenon of echo amid the breathtaking view. If you are adventurous, you can reach the top by hiking. Relax on the green natural carpet by the rivulets created by many waterfalls and don't miss to catch the heaven in your camera.

Next, visit the Mattupetty Dam a water reservoir used for producing hydroelectricity. The main attraction here is the lake on which you can enjoy boating with the view of tea and coffee plantations on the surrounding mountain slopes. Another nearby attraction is the shooting point or photo point. The place is adorned with small woods, rivulets, rolling mountains with dense tea plantations on the slopes that create a great opportunity for photography.

In the evening, you can enjoy boating on the Kundala Lake. Spot elephants drinking water by the lakeside. You will sail by the spice garden and enjoy the stunning sunset view from the boat. Back to the hotel for night stay at Munnar.

Day 4 - Munnar – Thekkady (110 Km – 3-hour drive)

Post breakfast in the morning, check out of the hotel and leave by road to Thekkady (Periyar). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel to freshen up. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thekkady such as Murikkady, Chellar Kovil, Mangala Devi Temple and Periyar National Park. Stay overnight in Thekkady.

Day 5 - Thekkady – Alleppey (140 Km – 3.5-hour drive)

After breakfast, you will check-out from the hotel and head to Alleppey by road. On arrival check-in at the hotel. In the evening, you will board your houseboat to sail on the backwater. Enjoy the surrounding beauty of pine trees, coconut plants and paddy fields as your houseboat moves through the lakes, lagoons, and canals. Enjoy the sunset from the comfort of the houseboat and return to the hotel for night stay.

Day 6 - Alleppey – Kovalam (180 KMS – 04 Hours drive)

On day 6, the Ayurveda Kerala tour will take you to Kovalam. You will spend the next 7 days at this serene beach town blessed with stunning pine forest, shallow water, and authentic Ayurvedic spas. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel. Later, you can go to the beach and relax amid the natural beauty.

Kovalam means the grove of palm trees, the place is named so because it is actually decorated with palm trees. You can go for a leisure walk on the white sandy beaches, spend some fun time sunbathing or playing with the waves. There are many things to enjoy on the beach. You can watch the amazing sunset while savoring seafood or relax amidst the breathtaking beauty of tranquil water and pine forest.

Day 7 - 13 - Kovalam

Besides the beautiful beaches, what attracts tourists to Kovalam is the famous ayurvedic massage in Kerala.

Kovalam is the home to the authentic Ayurvedic spas. The medicinal plants available in Kerala are used in the practice of ancient Vedic healthcare that has developed the rejuvenating health care ayurvedic retreat Kerala. You can join an Ayurvedic session at one of the many spas to rejuvenate yourself. Also, practice meditation, join a yoga session or attend other cultural activities.

This crescent-shaped Kovalam beach is a combination of three beaches- Hawa, Samudra and Lighthouse beach. If you want to relax amidst the serenity of pine-line head to Hawa beach. The scenic jewel of Kovalam, Samudra beach is an ideal place if you want to treat your eyes to the excellent beauty of nature. If you want to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, visit the Lighthouse. The beach also offers a variety of water sports for the adventure lovers.

It is also a wonderful shopping place where you can purchase aromatic spices, handicrafts, wooden statues and much more. After the excursion, retire for the night in the hotel.

Day 14 - Kovalam – Trivandrum (17 Km – 35 minutes' drive)

Today is the last day of your tour. After a farewell breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Trivandrum airport or railway station. If you have time you can explore some attractions in the capital city. Some of the famous sites in Trivandrum are Padmanabhaswamy temple, Museum Complex, Science & Technology Museum and Veli Tourist Village that you can visit.
