Day 01: Ahmedabad - Sayla
Land at the city of Ahmedabad and be greeted by our representatives. Check in at the hotel on the first day of the wildlife and heritage Gujarat tour. After you reach the place, make trips to Sayla. Also embark on trips to Latura towards the afternoon and see the Asiatic Wild Ass.
Ranking among the popular cities in Gujarat, Ahmedabad is situated by the banks of the River Sabarmati. It is the largest city of the state and is also a well known industrial and commercial hub. Also known as Karnavati, the city experiences huge inflow of travelers from various parts of the country and the world. Have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 02: Sayla- Gir
Drive to the Gir National Park and on the route, visit Junagadh. Also visit other tourist sites such as Uparkot Fort, Buddhist cave-sites, the palace museum, 3rd century BC Ashoka rock edicts and so on.
Towards the afternoon, come to the Gir Birding Lodge. Enjoy sumptuous lunch and embark on safari trips to the Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Ruled by the Jhala Rajputs, Sayla used to be a princely state. The city was founded in the year 1751 and consists of grand palaces and monuments. In the evening have dinner at the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 and 04: Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary
Make safari trips to the Gir Forest in the morning and see various species of flora and fauna. While on the trip, make a visit to the famous shore temple of Somnath. It ranks among the 12 holy abodes of Lord Shiva. Your trip also consists of visit to Ahilya Temple, Sun Temple and so on.
The vegetation in the Gir National Park is mostly deciduous. It is home to the well known Asiatic lion. Other species of animals consist of chital or spotted deer, sambar, and blue bull antelope, panthers, leopards and so on. Spend the night at the hotel after you have dinner.
Day 05: Ahmedabad - Rajkot
Drive back to Ahmedabad/Rajkot for boarding a return flight for your onward destination.
