Day 01: Delhi
Land Delhi in the evening.
Day 02: Delhi - Leh: By Flight
Come to the domestic airport at Delhi and catch the flight 9W-609 Dep 0540 / Arr 0655 Hrs for the journey to Leh. After arriving at Leh, our representatives will welcome you and take you to the hotel. Relax in the day and get accustomed to the cool climate of Leh.
Towards the afternoon, undertake trips to Shankar Gompa which is situated at a distance of around 3 kms from Leh. The monastery is a part of the Spituk Gompa and belongs to the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat Sect. The monastery was used as the official residence of the head of the Gelukpa sect of Ladakh who is referred to as Kushok Bakul. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Leh
Have breakfast in the morning and make trips to the Likir Gomapa, Spituk, Phiyang, and Alchi Gompa and so on. The Spituk Gompa dates back to the 11th century and is dedicated to the foundation of Od-de. He was the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od. Od-de used to be the leader of the monastic community of Ladakh.
Situated on the western mountains, Phiyang Monastery is located at a distance of around 40 kms from Leh. It is a part of the Red Hat Sect of Buddhism.
Alchi Gompa was constructed by Rinchen Zangpo and it dates back to 1000 AD. The name of the Likir is "The Naga - Encircled". Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 04: Leh
Enjoy breakfast early in the morning and embark on trips to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries. Located on top of a hill, Shey Gompa in Ladakh is around 15 kms in the southern part of the town.
Thiksey Gompa is placed at a distance of around 18 kms from Leh amidst beautiful landscape. It is one of the renowned monasteries in the area and is a part of the Gelukpa Order of Buddhism.
The largest and the wealthiest monastery in the town, Hemis Monastery dates back to the year 1630. It was established by the first Stagsang Raspa Nawang Gyatso. The monastery is located inside the gorge and is around 47 kms from Leh. Go back to the hotel and stay there for the night.
Day 05: Leh - Delhi (By Flight) - By Road to Agra
Have breakfast in the hotel and reach the domestic airport. Board a flight 9W-610 Dep 0740 / Arr 0855 Hrs for Delhi. After you reach Delhi airport, transfer to the international airport to board a flight for the onward destination or back home.
