Introduction

B.R.Hills Wildlife Resort is the ideal place for those who choose to spend time enjoying the beauty of hills and forests. This resort is located in the middle of the Bilgiri Rangaswami sanctuary at Kasad Gudi. The nearest airport is Bangalore. The resort is easily accessible by road being situated at a distance of just 225 km from Bangalore, 90 km from Mysore and 245 km from Ooty.

The greenery of the deciduous, evergreen and grassland forests is at its best from June to November. Even though you will get to see the animals and listen to the sweet song of the birds at all times of the year but the best time to sight all of them is from June to October. Accommodation at the B.R.Hills Wildlife Resort

The B.R.Hills Wildlife Resort gives you many options. You can choose to live in the large hunting bungalow which was once owned by the Maharaja of Mysore. These rooms are furnished with modern toilets. A total of about 15 tourists can live in this bungalow at the same time. There are many ethnic huts on stilts which are adequately furnished and have a bathroom attached to it which can be an ideal place for those who want to get a distinctive taste of that kind of life. Tents are also available for those who want to live in greater proximity to nature. There are a total of 8 permanent twin bed tents with modern toilet facilities. There is no electricity in the B.R.Hills Wildlife resort. Electricity is not provided in the tents and the ethnic huts. However the hunting lodge gets electricity from 7pm to 10.30 p.m. But when the place gets illuminated by the lanterns the atmosphere becomes all the more enchanting.

B.R.Hills Wildlife Resort provides you with a heavy lunch to re-energize you after you have explored the forests. What is very interesting is that dinner is served to you when you are warming yourself up sitting around the campfire at the Gol Ghar. The Gol Ghar is a bar cum multi-cuisine restaurant which serves deliciously cooked meals. You will also get the rare opportunity to get a taste of the fresh honey collected by the Solga Tribals directly from the honeycomb when you are out penetrating the interiors of the forests.

You can go for a jungle safari either in a jeep or on an elephant back. There is every possibility that you will get to spot several wild animals like panthers, tigers, deers, bison, wild boar, barking deer, and porcupine. A whole herd of elephants may pass in front of your eyes. Nature lovers can utilize their time very effectively by watching over 200 species of birds. Mentions worthy among them are the racket tailed drongo, hill Myna, large Indian parakeet, crested serpent eagle, chestnut bellied nuthatch.
