‘Exploring Kargil and Drass’ tour package is an ideal opportunity for those who are looking forward to explore the challenging terrains of Ladakh along with its monasteries, high passes and bucolic countryside. The 9 days long journey  will face to face with Kargil War Memorial (a tribute to the valiant Indian soldiers), Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and scenic Pangong Lake. You will be taken to the top of Khardongla Pass, one  of the highest motorable pass in the world.

Itinerary - Exploring Kargil & Drass

Day 1 - Delhi - Leh

Upon arrival at the Kushok Bakula airport in Leh, meet our representative who'll escort you to the hotel pre-decided for your stay. Upon arrival, you'll be given a welcome drink followed by room check-in. The rest of the day is free to get acclimatized to the high altitudes of Ladakh. In the evening, proceed on a walking tour to Leh Bazaar. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 2 - Leh(sightseeing)

Today, go out for a full day sightseeing tour of some of the most important monasteries and palaces in Leh. Start with Shey Palace (the former summer palace of Ladakh king), Thiksey monastery (enshrined with the beautiful statue of Maitreya Buddha) and Hemis Monastery. By evening , return back to the hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 3 - Leh - Mulbekh

Early morning, leave by road for Mulbekh, located 190 kilometers away on the Leh-Srinagar highway. On the way, visit the Magnetic Hill and Alchi Murals known to be 1000 years old. Later, visit the lunar landscapes nearby Lamayuru. By evening, arrive in Mublekh followed by check in at the Deluxe Camp. Later, go out to see the large rock-cut statue of Maitreya Buddha in Mublekh. Later, return back to the hotel for night stay.

Day 4 - Mulbekh - Drass - Kargil

Early morning, leave by road for Drass via Kargil. On reaching Drass, you will be taken to visit "Vijay Memorial" followed by a photo shoot of the famous Tiger Hill. After having lunch at Drass, return back to Kargil for overnight stay.

Day 5 - Kargil - Likir - Alchi

Post a leisurely breakfast in the morning, return back to Alchi (which is around 135 kilometers away from Kargil). En route, visit the scenic hamlet of Likir and meet with the local people, later you will shyam valley & further drive for Alchi, visit  Stay overnight at the Lukhil hotel.

Day 6 - Leh - Alchi

Post a leisurely breakfast in the morning, drive back to Leh. On way visit Patharsahib Gurudwara, Hall of Fame and the confluence of Indus and Zanskar river. Upon arrival in Leh, you can go out for a shopping tour around the small curio markets of Leh. The interesting places you can visit include Tibetan Super market, Ecological Centre Crafts shop, Moti market and the old town. Evening embark on a sightseeing tour Shanti Stupa,. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel. 

Day 7 - Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh

Early morning, embark on a full day tour of Pangong Lake, which is around 135 kilometers away from Leh. En route, you will pass through Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region. Pangong Lake is the largest lake in Asia which changes its color 4 to 5 times in a day. Later, return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8 - Leh - Khardungla Pass - Leh

Today, start driving on the Nubra Valley highway to visit the famous Khardongla Pass located at 18,380 feet. It is the world's highest motorable pass. Later, drive back to Leh. In the afternoon you may visit , Leh Palace and Sangkar. Stay for night stay.

Day 9 - Leh - Departure

In the morning, you will be transferred to the Kushok Bukula airport to board flight for onward destination.
