Itinerary - Amazing Ladakh Tour with Pangong

Day 1 - Delhi - Leh

On arrival at the Kushok Bakula airport in Leh, our tour representative will greet you. From there, you will be transferred to the hotel. The first day you can spend leisurely as there will be no outing. You can spend the day doing activities of your interest. Relax in the hotel room or stroll in the markets of the Leh city.

Come back in the evening and stay overnight.

Day 2 - Leh

The journey begins early in the morning and you will head to the west of Leh. This part of the city is renowned for the ancient Alchi Monastery. This Buddhist monastery is popular for its monastic complex of temples in the village of Alchi. In the monastery, you can see fine miniature paintings.

From there, you will visit the Magnetic Hill which is a Cyclops Hill situated near Leh in Ladakh. The layout of the region and adjacent slopes give the place an appearance of a hill. The hill road is actually a downhill road. Objects and vehicles appear to be moving up the hill when actually they are, in fact, rolling downhill. They thus appear to be defying the laws of gravity. On the way back to your hotel, you can halt to visit the Military Hall of Fame, which is managed by the Indian Army. This museum or war memorial houses weapons, historic artifacts and also a souvenir shop.

Afterward, return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3 - Leh to Tsomoriri Lake

On the third day of your Pangong Ladakh tour, you will be soaking in the natural beauty of the area. Begin your journey to the scenic Tsomoriri Lake. The lake is at a distance 220 km from Leh and is located at a height of 4200 m above sea level. Bounded by snow-laden mountains from all the sides, Tso Moriri presents a sight to behold.

From Leh, drive your way alongside the Indus River to the Rupshu valley. On the way, you will come across hot springs at Chumathang Valley and the Mahe Bridge. When you arrive at the Tsomoriri Lake, check in at the nearby camps. Later in the day, visit the wetland sanctuaries near the shore, a popular breeding ground for thousands of migrating birds which includes the Brahmini Duck and Black Necked Cranes.

Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 - Tsomoriri Lake to Tsokar Lake to Stok

After the morning breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the exotic Tsokar Lake. On your way, you can halt to visit the Puga Geothermal gas springs situated in the Puga Valley of the Ladakh region. This zone shows evidence of geothermal activity in the form of mud pools, hot springs, sulfur and borax deposits.

You can also visit the nomadic Rebo tents settled at the Polo-Kongka pass which serve as a dwelling place for nomads who live in mountain regions of Central Asia. They are usually made from yak wool that has been hand spun into yarn and it takes about a year to make a mid-sized tent. You can visit the Monastery of Thukje village as well. During the rest of the journey, you will cross the Taglang La which is at an altitude of around 5300 meters.

The journey ends on reaching Stok in the evening, where you will check in to a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5 - Stok - Nubra Valley

Start your day early in the morning and drive to the striking Nubra valley located in the northeast of Ladakh. It is situated at an altitude 3048 meters above sea level. To reach the valley, you will pass through Khardung La, which is considered as the highest motorable pass in the world. When you arrive at the Nubra valley, check in to a hotel or a camp and relax for a while.

Later on, explore the sand dunes of Nubra by riding on the back of the camel. Also known as Bactrian Camels, these camels have two humps and are specific to this region only. The sand dunes are about 7 km from the Nubra valley, and you can enjoy an exciting desert safari here. From there, visit the world famous Diskit Monastery, which is the home to the 100 ft. tall Maitreya Buddha statue. It is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery (Gompa) situated in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh in the northern region of India.

After the sightseeing, return back to your hotel or camp and stay there overnight.

Day 6 - Nubra - Leh

After breakfast, begin your morning on a spiritual note by visiting the Samstanling Monastery. Referred locally as Samstanling Gompa, the monastery is located in Sumur Village in the Nubra Valley of the Ladakh. The Monastery was founded almost 150 years ago. The place is to be found in the middle of pleasant scenic beauty and is surrounded by traditional hues of gold, red and white.

After exploring the monastery, head back to Leh. Enjoy the delicious food for lunch during the journey itself. You will reach Leh late in the evening. Relax for the rest of the day at the hotel or shop at the local markets.

After that, return to the hotel eat dinner and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 - Leh - Pangong Lake

After breakfast, start your journey to Pangong Lake. The scenic lake is nestled around 135 km away from the city of Leh. Drive through the Chang La and reach Pangong Lake perched at a height of 17500 ft. above sea level. On the way to Pangong Lake, you will cross the Durbuk and Tangtse village.

Durbuk is a small village that lies between Chang La mountain pass and Tangste on the way to Pangong Tso Lake. Tangtse, on the other hand, is a village in Durbuk Block in Leh located 71 km towards east of Leh and 10 km from Durbuk.

After that in the afternoon, you will reach Pangong Lake. It is one of the most wonderful lakes of India. A leisurely stroll on the shores of the lake will let you enjoy the interplay of colors of the Pangong Lake. Our tour representative will take you to the nearby nomadic village in the evening.

Return to the camp for an overnight stay.

Day 8 - Pangong - Leh

On day 8 of your remarkable Ladakh Pangong Lake tour, treat your eyes to the awe-inspiring vistas. Begin your day by the sightseeing of the picturesque Pangong Lake which gets illuminated by the sun rays early in the morning. After the breakfast, head back to Leh. On reaching Leh, you can shop at the local markets.

Later on, check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 9 - Leh - Delhi

After breakfast, our tour representative will take you to Kushok Bakula airport to board the flight to Delhi. This will be the end of our delightful Ladakh tour package.
